The following support services may be provided in the classroom setting through an inclusion model, through a small group pull-out model, or through teacher consultation.

Remedial |
Remedial reading provides reading support to students who demonstrate the need for additional reading help, based upon classroom performance and teacher recommendation. Remediation may focus on specific skill instruction in phonetic skills, vocabulary, and/or comprehension. |
Chapter 766 Special Needs Services |

Moderate Special Needs |
MSN provides academic support to students who have been identified as having a learning disability that interferes with their ability to make effective progress in their classroom. Students are identified through the Chapter 766 evaluation process and are serviced through an Individualized Educational Plan. |

Speech and Language |
Speech and Language therapy may be offered to children who are determined to have a special need in articulation (speech sounds), hearing, understanding language, or formulating language to express ideas. Parents who have a concern about his/her child's speech or language should contact the classroom teacher of the speech pathologist. |

Occupational & Physical Therapy |
O.T. & P.T may be provided for students who have physical and developmental challenges which impact their ability to access the curriculum. Therapy is provided through and Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) in order to assist students in functioning more independently in their classroom setting. |

English as a Second Language |
E.S.L. is a program available to students whose first language is not English. It assists students in acquiring the basic English skills needed for learning and applying academic skills in their classrooms. |

Adaptive Physical Education |
A.P.E provides children who have specific needs individualzed instruction within a small group or inclusion setting. Age-appropriate skills are broken down into smaller components so that children meet with success. It helps reinforce social skills and self-esteem. |

Counseling |
A school counselor is available to meet with students either individually or in groups to support their educational goals. Typical counseling topics include: social skills development, anger control, making and keeping friends, and dealing with the frustration of academic weaknesses. |
