The Basking shark is a species fond mostly find them at the coast of continents in temperate and arctic waters.  They are usually seen at the surface, mouth agape in open water eating little fish  that go into their mouth. IT filters what goes into its mouth. Since it filters what goes in its mouth it probably will clean the water for its self and other fish.

             Some times they travel away from shore and is known to enter bays. The are often seen in pairs or schools larger then 100. They migrate in spring between North Carolina and New York and the summer they migrate between New England and Canada. It Disappears in Autumn and Winter. It feeds of the coast of coast of most continents.

            It is a consumer that filters what goes into its mouth. Sometimes seen in the North Atlantic, and is often seen with Right Whales. It goes to deeper waters in low latitudes. Known to sometimes completely leap out of the water. It appears to like the surface better than the rest of the parts of the ocean. It usually goes to  to depths of about 0 to 1,870 feet . It usually goes to the surface of the water only when the food and temperature is favorable .
