-          Their teeth are so small that if you take two of them and compare them to a penny the penny will be bigger. 

-          They can grow to be 12 meters in length that is 40 ft. long.

-          The average adult is 22-29 ft. loon but can grow a lot longer.

-          The basking shark is already long at birth then the average human adult; it usually is 5-7 ft. long.

-          The basking shark is an extremely slow growing species it may grow seven meters before maturing.

-          They have a huge mouth to filter their feeding and have 5 large gills for breathing and   also to filter their feeding.

-     In 1997 the US Nation Marine Fisheries Service banned fishing for the basking shark, in US Federal Atlantic waters.

      -Basking  sharks are not considered dangerous To people watching them or boats but if harmed or if you hit or touch them they may attacking. 

      - In the past years Basking sharks were for four things, their meat, oil, fins, and vitamin rich livers.
