
The bottlenose dolphin lives in many parts of the world. They live in both tropical and temperate areas. They live in the Pacific Ocean from the northern coast of Japan and California to Australia and Chile. They also live offshore in the eastern Pacific near the Hawaiian Islands. In the Atlantic Ocean they live From Nova Scotia and Norway to Patagonia and the tip of South America.They are also the most abundant species of dolphins along the U.S., from Cape Cod to the Gulf of Mexico. These dolphins live in the Mediterranean Sea, the Indian Ocean, from Australia to South Africa too. The bottlenose dolphins also find home in generally cold open areas of ocean called the pelagic zone. They live in many types of estuaries such as harbors, bays, lagoons and gulfs. The bottlenose dolphin is an active predator wherever they live which makes them consumers. Th e bottlenosed dolphin eats a variety of fishes, squids,shrimp and other crustaceans. Their food varies with their location.
