Welcome to our school, and thank you for visiting our school’s website.

Federal Furnace School is one of the eight elementary schools of Plymouth. We proudly serve approximately 500 students with a staff of approximately 80. With all of our programs (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health Education, Music, Art, Physical Education) based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, our lessons reflect current practices and methodologies.

We offer a full range of services, including special education, Title One, and a program for children with autism. We have a full time school psychologist, a full time consulting teacher of reading, 2 speech and language therapists, a library/media specialist, and a nurse educator who is supported by additional nursing staff as needs warrant. An educational technology specialist and a health education teacher provide support on an itinerant basis. On an as needed basis, we have the services of an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, an assistive technology specialist, and vision and hearing specialists.

We have an active Home and School Association, whose website is linked to our website. We have a diligent school council made up of parents, teachers, and a community representative who work to develop the school’s annual school improvement plan.

Having worked in Plymouth Public Schools for over 30 years, it is my honor to bring our community’s next generation of citizens to each one’s personal best.
